Prince Tennis racquet question? I have heard from people the the Prince O3 White is bad because you have to string it multiple times to get the perfect tension and string. Is this true? If yes, can someone tell me what string and tension to use with it? Well, I suppose that it is true that you have to string it multiple times to find the right tension, but that is true with any racquet. Using different tensions can change your racquet quite a bit. Low tension will maximize the sweet spot and power, but it will be harder to control the ball. High tension will give maximum control, but sacrifice power. Higher tension also makes the strings break more often. It only takes a couple stringings to find your preferred range. Start in the middle of the tension range (58 lbs for your racquet) with a standard synthetic gut string (I use Prince syn. gut with duraflex, but any syn. gut string will do). Play those strings until they break. If the racquet felt like it lacked power, string with lower tension next time. If it felt too powerful, or that you couldn't control the ball well, string a little higher. If you want to go higher, jump to 61 lbs. If you want to go lower, jump to 55 lbs. These are in the middle of their halves of the racquet's range. Try out the new tensions, and do the same thing. This time, it will take a little judgement as to your next tension. Figure out if you need more or less tension again. Then, you have to judge how severe the problem was. If you feel that the racquet was a little bit too powerful, then string just 1 lb. tighter. If it felt much too powerful, then increase by 2 lb. Same thing goes for if it lacks power, but drop tension rather than add it. After this set of strings break, you might find that you like the tension. If that's the case, you're done. If there's still something wrong with it, change it again, using the same methods as before. As for the strings, I wouldn't worry too much about those at this time. Any syn. gut should do you just fine.
