He would play with this racket for decades, and what had once been innovation became traditionalism, and while others moved on to other types of rackets he continued to play with the Wilson, even reverting to it once after changing to a newer type of racket construction. It took until 1987 before he would switch full time to a graphite construction racket, which was 19 years after the introduction of the T2000 racket which he helped introduce to the world.
